The fun is ridiculous.
The reason behind it isn't.
From the very first event in 2019, the proceeds have benefited the Community Resource Center (CRC). Their work supporting people affected by domestic violence is especially meaningful to me, and giving back to CRC has always been at the heart of why I keep doing this year after year.
Here's the serendipitous part: I didn't know when we started that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. I chose October because, well... witches. It just happened to give our fundraiser an even deeper connection to the work we were already supporting.
TWBC has never been a for-profit event. After the direct costs of producing and promoting the day are covered, the remaining proceeds go to CRC. I've never taken compensation for organizing it.
That's why your support matters. Every event expense we can offset through sponsorships, donations, and in-kind partnerships means more of what we raise can go to CRC.
We don't take ourselves too seriously. But we take our purpose very seriously.
